Join the library
If you live in the Western Riverina region you can join the library for free. Please visit the library with identification and proof of address to sign up.
You can join online, just fill out your details and attend your local branch with your ID to complete the registration. Your application will expire after 30 days unless you visit your local library to collect a library card.
Conditions of Membership
You can view the Western Riverina Libraries Conditions of Membership by clicking on the button below. Acceptance and abiding by these conditions is mandatory for all active library members.
If you are staying in the area for a short time or you are unable to provide sufficient proof of your residence in the WRL Local Government Area you can become a Non Resident Member at any of our branch libraries. For a non refundable fee of $20 Non Resident Membership allows you full access to the library’s services. You will be able to borrow up to a maximum of 3 items at any one time. Use the library
CDs and DVDs have a one week (7 day) loan. All other items have a three week (21 day) loan. If you require an extended loan on any items please ask staff for assistance.
Items loaned from any branch library can be returned at any time of the day. All branches have after hours Return chutes to return items if the library is closed.
You can return to any branch or Mobile Library.
If you’d like an item currently on loan to someone else, you can reserve the item online, over the phone or in person at any library. When the item is available for collection at your nominated branch we will notify you by email or post.

You can search other Australian libraries at http://www.trove.nla.gov.au
If the item is available at another library you can borrow it for a small fee on Interlibrary loan. Place your request over the phone or in person at any library.
$5.00 – Public libraries (excluding ACT public libraries).
$20.00 – University libraries, Specialist libraries & ACT public libraries.
Average delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks. When the item is available for collection we will notify you by email/post.
Lost Interlibrary loans
If an Interlibrary loan is lost you will be required to pay for its replacement. The cost of the replacement is at the discretion of the supplying library.
Bookends, Griffith City Library’s book club program, runs for 10 months per year from February to November.
For an annual subscription of $420 book clubs are entitled to one set of books per month (10 per year). Each set of books contains 12 books and a folder of discussion questions. New and pre-existing book clubs throughout the Western Riverina region are welcome and encouraged to join Bookends. Contact Griffith Library for more information.

Exhibitions and Displays
WRL Libraries have wall and floor space for community groups and not-for-profit organisations to erect displays and/or hold events.
Griffith, Hay, Hillston & Narrandera libraries offer a free Home Library Service if you are unable to visit the library due to age or disability. Library staff can deliver a selection of resources directly to your door on a fortnightly or monthly basis.

WRL offers 2 mobile library services in the Western Riverina Region. We visit Carrathool Shire, Murrumbidgee Shire, Narrandera Shire, and villages of Griffith. Each library truck is filled with shelves of novels, children’s books, large print books, audio books, and DVD’s.
Meeting Room Hire
All branches of WRL have meeting rooms available for hire. Each location varies on room size/seating, hire fees and conditions of use. Contact your desired branch location to check availability and make a booking.
Some branch libraries also offer small study rooms for hire. These are ideal for holding job interviews, supervising exams, and small group meetings, study or training sessions. Contact your desired branch location to check availability and make a booking. Hire fees apply. Rooms are available on a walk-in basis for no charge if no bookings exist.
Public Computers & WiFi access
Public computers with internet access, Microsoft Office suite and printing are located at each branch. Computer use and printing charges differ at each branch.
All libraries also provide a WiFi hotspot. WiFi access is FREE at Griffith City Library, other branches charge for WiFi access.
WiFi printing is available for pickup at Griffith City Library. You can submit documents to print from your laptop or PC. You will need an email address to submit and release your print job. Click here to send your document to the printer from your computer.
Printing from mobile devices is also available for pickup at Griffith City Library. To print an email or an email attachment you will need to forward your email from your internet connected mobile device to Griffith Library’s Mobile Print Service email address:
This will print your document in Colour Single Sided on A4 paper. You will receive a confirmation email if successful.
